Psychosis Outside the Box

The direct experiences of individuals with psychosis are frequently excluded and/or marginalized in mainstream conceptualizations of ‘symptoms,’ the training of clinicians, and the broader research literature. The project “Psychosis Outside the Box” seeks to address this gap by soliciting, compiling, and amplifying the direct personal accounts of experiences of psychosis. Assoc Prof Nev Jones and doctoral student Shannon Pagdon believe that, by highlighting the range and depth of psychosis-related experiences, they can help transform the views of practitioners and validate the diversity of experiences within the service user/experiencer community.
